Visually and emotionally moving - Pearl Harbor Reviews

While watching this movie in theatres I experienced so many different emotions- happiness, pain, sadness, and anger. I watched past events in America's history replayed and for once was able to understand what it was like back then, how one of America's first true tradgedies affected and shaped the ones living before it. The war scene in this movie was rather long and I found myself wondering when it'll be over with, not for the fact that I was bored or I didn't think it was filmed well (for it was), but for the reason that I was shocked, the amount of death and pain that those people experienced will never amount to or be close to any type of pain I will ever experience in my life. It touched my soul, I was not able to cope seeing all the hurt and death, the reality of it all. Another reason that this movie is so special to me is that rather than just being a war movie, with the death and gore, it really focused on the lives of a particular group of young americans. How they found love, how they lost it and how much of a part the war played in it. It was a sweet love story and while many may mock this movie because of the love story I applaud it for while stripping me emotionally with the tragedy and death, it restored my faith in love and the kindess of the human spirit, how we may overcome our tragedies and build above it, while all the time never forgetting.
