To wake a sleeping giant - Pearl Harbor Reviews
Pearl Harbor is a powerful and moving film.
Detailing the attack on the US Naval Base bearing
the same name, this historical event is brought to
life in a dramatic way.
Showing the sorrow and pain of those that not only
lived through the event, but also rose to the
occasion and battled back from the brink of
despair.
=My Review=
The word awesome doesn't begin to do this film
justice. At three hours long, it can seem like
a long journey, but when the action and drama
begins, it is easy to lose yourself in the movie.
The actors do an excellent job bringing the
characters to life. When the first attack sweeps
the base, the shock and confusion of the event is
something that can be felt be the audience.
Never before have I witnessed such an attempt to
capture the raw essence of war and its affects
on a people. Watching this movie is like walking
through fire - You are re-forged into something
stronger then before. Gifted with a new sense
of purpose and love for the freedoms that others
have paid for in blood.
Many have complained that this film is bogged down
with elements of a love story B-Plot, however I
feel that this element is required to show what
the men and women were willing to sacrifice in
the name of their country and freedom.
I can only hope that you watch this movie and can
see the entire message of the film.
